About Pegboard Crafts
My name is Peggy. I am
wife, mother, grandmother, artist, digitizer, test stitcher and now, teacher. I am Pegboard
Crafts.
I began sewing
in 3rd grade. I have drawn since before I can
remember. I had a few quarters training at the Art Institute of
Pittsburgh in 1972-1973. I have held a variety of jobs including layout
artist/photographer at a local insurance company and one-hour photo
booth technician. I made dolls, santas and other home decor items and
sold them at local craft fairs to earn a little extra income.
A
friend introduced me to the
world of machine embroidery. I found her machine interesting. It was
when I was shown how the software could help me
turn my artwork into something the machine could
stitch out that I became hooked. I get along with computers almost as
well as I do sewing machines. I own a Designer 1 named "Baby".. She isn't getting as much
use as she did in earlier years. She does all my regular
sewing! I am also the proud owner of a Brother PR600 , Innovis
500D (little Pooh) and Innovis 1000. The shirts/craft fairs have become a thing of the past. Thanks to my loyal customers, and a few close friends,
I am now devoting most of my time to drawing and designing. I have to
make time for my grandchildren - Jonathan and Alexandra.
I began using
Embird Studio digitizing program in early 2005.
Embird is my favorite do everything program. I use Studio to
create all my designs. It does everything I need it to do at an
extremely affordable price. I teach an occasional class - at the
International Embroidery Conference (Indiana Embroidery Conference) and
the American Embroidery Conference. I specialize in newbies. I have a
Yahoo Group you are welcome to join called Embird101 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Embird101
I have recently added a 2nd group - AbsolutelyEmbird, formerly run by
Kathy Jones of the Flying Needle. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AbsolutelyEmbird/
I look forward to hearing from you. I have several Embird tutorials
available and am not teaching private seminars.Upcoming seminars are
listed on the Embird Seminars page. If interested in a seminar in
your area, please contact me at pegboard1@yahoo.com.
Enjoy my designs,
