Unzipping Instructions for Pegboard Crafts Cds

The designs on the CD are in self-executing zipped files created using WinZip. No additional software is needed for unzipping. Only design and instruction files will be loaded onto your computer when you run these files. Every effort has been taken to provide you with a safe and virus-free CD.

Method 1

1

Using Windows Explorer, browse to the CD drive holding the CD. Find the zipped file that has the machine extension you use, Design ***HUS.exe  e.g. Double click on that file name.  If using SHV to make a Designer 1 floppy, please see the the instructions for your machine below.
2 A WinZip Self-Extractor window opens. Click on Unzip.
3 The files will unzip to the C: drive in a folder named Pegboard. Each design set will create its own folder in the C:\Pegboard folder.
4 Click Close to close the WinZip window.
5 Repeat for the file Design***_TEXT.exe. This unzips the design instructions. You will find them in a secondary folder Instructions within the design folder.

Method 2

1 Click on Start in your taskbar (usually at the bottom left corner of your screen). Then click on Run. (Windows Vista users, type Run into the search bar.) Click the Browse button.
2 Select the drive holding the CD under Look In (use the down arrow to see a list of locations).
3 Double click on the desired file.
4 Follow directions 2-5 under Method 1.
Making a Designer 1 floppy ready for your machine
1 Place a fresh floppy in the floppy drive. Reformat it if you have used it previously.
2 Using either method above, find the zipped file Design***SHV.exe.  Double click on it.
3 Click Unzip in the WinZip self-extractor window that opens. The destination has been set for the A:\ drive.
4 The floppy drive will whir and your designs will be placed on it with the file structure that your machine requires.
5 Click Close to close the WinZip window.
6 Unzip the design instructions following Step 5 in Method 1.
Note: I  used Embird to create the newest SHV files. When you place the floppy in your Designer 1 you may see a dire warning that the disk was created with unapproved software, blah, blah, blah. It is perfectly safe to use the disk. No harm will come to your machine. If it was going to hurt it, my Baby would be dead by now and she is working just fine.
